Description

In this ~150 page zine lives uncensored material written between November 2017 and April 2020. These are the writings that emerged after the straw that broke the camel’s back, when I experienced cyber harassment after a political clash online; what one might refer to as a “call out.” My tolerance of and submission to the contradictions and militant relational culture of the digital left evaporated after this traumatic experience. I believe that a critical part of justice is actively creating out a world among, within, and between ourselves that mirrors our values and vision. A main area this can be achieved, I believe, is in our relating. It felt all too obvious to me that we were not doing that, and we were only hurting ourselves and recreating dominating dynamics that enable violence and inflict trauma.

This zine functions as a series of critiques of 2010s digital feminist culture, but also, as a diary of a mind fixated and unraveling in the realm of belief. My hope is that somehow, these writings will provide someone with help, insight, or catalysis.

Often these words are messy, angry, and full of doubt. Sometimes they are reflective and insightful, or funny. Always they are honest.

The zine is broken up into 5 parts, in different files:

iii. Reckoning

iv. Grieving

v. Regenerating

You will have access to all 5 parts. They will not be distributed separately.

You don’t have to enter your actual address in the checkout screen. You can enter nonsense and that’s fine. I can’t turn off that info collection requirement, but its accuracy doesn’t matter.
